Japanese American percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani brings his famed Nakatani Gong Orchestra to Baltimore on Saturday May 3rd at the EMP Collective. The concert will feature a solo percussion set by Nakatani followed by the Nakatani Gong Orchestra. Nakatani has recruited a cabal of local artists to fill the orchestra for the Baltimore performance, including M.C. Schmidt, Owen Gardner, Lexie Mountain, Neil Feather, Paul Neidhardt, Caroline Marcantoni and Andrew Bernstein.

We’re excited to be hosting two composers of music for toy piano. Not only that, they’ve both experimented with the instrument in ways that stretch our expectations, like toy piano four hands. You might even get the chance to hear a piece for soprano and music box.
