Punxsutawney is about 200 miles away. These musicians will attempt to find the right transmission frequency to wake the groundhog two days early to get a head start on our seasonal prognostication.

In order to trick the groundhog, we will need the combined efforts of improvisers with keen ears who can together form a difference tone so low that it compensates for the difference in the moon’s position from January 31 to February 2. These talented musicians include the following local performers. Samuel Burt on daxophone or clarinets. Paul Neidhardt on percussion. Justin Porter on violoncello. Shelly Purdy on percussion. Mariya Shchesyuk on bass or synthesizer. C.K. Barlow on synths. Possibly more!

These musicians will play in small groups. Experience intense, thoughtful, explorations of the outer boundaries of music through improvisation amongst musicians who might be meeting for the first time.
