Accomplished reed players and prolific music organizers Jessica Keyes and Samuel Burt will take the stage with a wholly different approach to music tonight.  This is a celebration of another oscillation around the sun for both performers. Join them in sensing the peak of this 32nHz waveform while they improvise with the audible harmonics of this annual frequency. Bring your party hats!

Keyes and Burt will each play a long-form solo set on modular synthesizers. They have carefully curated the modules that make up their instruments and exhibit an intellectual virtuosity that is focused much less on the physicality that reed instruments require and much more focused on understanding complex interactions of electrically driven audio processes. Keyes often blends her reed playing into her modular.

At 9:00pm, the next batch of sets will begin at the same special location.

Jason Charney will be playing modular synth with lights. Will Yager, James Young, and David Diongue will be playing acoustic chamber music. Kelly Xio will share poetry. What will Bao Nguyen do? Your guess is as good as ours.
