May 29th Eugene Chadbourne/David Menestes Duo!
Legends!
North Carolina-based masters bring their 20+year duo to the Red Room.
If you aren’t familiar – Chadbourne is a longtime hero of the underground, active since the mid-1970s with everyone from John Zorn to Keiji Haino to Susan Alcorn and literally thousands more. He has recorded several hundred albums and written multiple books and hundreds (thousands?) of reviews and articles. “Legend” only really describes half of Eugene. He even made the list of Spin’s greatest guitarists.
He is also a High Zero Festival alum and much beloved friend to the Baltimore experimental music scene. This is his first visit to Bmore in 10 years or so.
David Menestres is a long time part of the North Carolina scene. He is also the leader of Polyorchard, an ever flexible ensemble working somewhere in the grey area between jazz, free improvisation, experimental, and classical musics, depending on the day.
