Jaap Blonk (born 1953 in Woerden, Netherlands) is a self-taught composer,
vocalist and poet. His unfinished studies in mathematics and musicology mainly
created a penchant for activities in a Dada vein, as did several unsuccessful jobs
in offices and other well-organised systems.

In the early 1980s he discovered the power and flexibility of his voice, and set
out on a long-term research of phonetics and the possibilities of the human
voice.

At present, he has developed into a specialist in the creation and performance of
sound poetry, supported by a powerful stage presence and an uninhibited feeling
for improvisation. He performs and gives workshops worldwide on a regular
basis.

With the use of live electronics the scope and range of his concerts has acquired
a considerable extension.

To this date Blonk’s music has appeared on 30 CDs with his own Kontrans
label; other recordings as well as books with his visual work have been
published in several countries.

CK Barlow, multi-instrumentalist and composer, divides her time between producing music for television, helping run a music label, and performing with electronics. As a performer, she specializes in live sampling and occasionally solo improvisations based on field recordings. CK’s music has been used in more than 1,900 television episodes spanning more than 300 series, along with several indie films, commercials, and video games. Her work for TV/film evolved from her scores and sound designs for dozens of live theater and dance productions.

Immersed in the eclectic world of new and experimental music, Bonnie Lander has performed in a great variety of concert programs, with a wide selection of collaborators in improvised music, new opera, new chamber music, and composition. Versatile, dramatic, with a “stratospheric legato” and a “signature ability to embody a seemingly endless supply of vocal timbres and personalities,” Lander combines an intuitive, spontaneous use of the voice with resonant operatic technique, in order to create a performance experience that is virtuosic, intimate, and sonically overwhelming.
