VCOs and Summer Swap Meet!
The Red Room hosts a community meetup to discuss modular synthesizers. This time we will start by looking at a conventional VCO with the usual triangle, square, sawtooth, and sine shapes. Then we will explore the more esoteric approaches to generating periodic signals. All are welcome to bring their strangest oscillators to observe and discuss.
Topics might include:
volts per octave tuning or the lack thereof
harmonic content of standard waveforms
wavetables
fundamental and harmonic shaping
complex (dual) oscillators
linear v. exponential frequency modulation
physical modelling synthesizers
digital oscillators with unusual modes
Also, bring modules to trade! This is a good opportunity to swap a module you don’t use for one you will love.
