Baltimore Technology Overdrive is a casual free workshop at the Red Room for electronic music enthusiasts to share their work and get advice. This session, BTO Tinkerers will be working to get their Raspberry Pis working with an operating system. Then we will work on configuring files on our Pis for networking and sound.

The Raspberry Pi is an embeddable computer about the size of a credit card with all the necessary inputs and outputs to use it for any imaginable project. If you plan to attend, you should consider picking one up at Microcenter with a micro SD card (at least 8GB). You’ll likely want a usb wifi dongle and you should bring a screen. If you want to get audio into your Raspberry Pi, you can use an old usb audio interface.

We will discuss these items and more. This is a FREE meet-up with NO EXPECTATION that everything will work in the end. Think of it as a problem solving session where you get to talk with people who have already made a few mistakes. We will also talk about the musical possibilities of the Raspberry Pi and consider some future projects.

Event location:

The Red Room at Normals Books and Records 425 E. 31st Street Baltimore, MD 21218
