Tiger Hatchery: The free jazz three piece known as Tiger Hatchery are comprised of Ben Baker Billington, Andrew Scott Young, and Mike Forbes. Now scattered across the country; Chicago, Seattle, and San Francisco.This geographical displacement makes your chances of seeing the modern masters of free “jazz” even more rare. Truly stunning, their craft is a balancing act of sonic destruction and compositional formation. Touring on a new LP on Ergot Records, Tiger Hatchery is never to be missed.
Wigger Mom: Natives of New Port News Virginia but now based in NYC, Wigger Mom is the pinot noir of the downtown scene. Ring leader, Wiggles has been active in the free jazz scene since 2005. Always surrounding himself with a rotating cast of inspired improvisers and cutting edge players, Wigger Mom’s live show is a refreshing take on the rigorous territory known as free jazz.
John Jones + Zachary Utz: These two Baltimore based musicians present a musical exploration based on Clifford Thornton’s entire discography.
Jenny Moon Tucker: Having just finished a residency studying overtones with Alan Silva, Baltimore improviser, Jenny Moon Tucker will present her findings of free jazz.
Hosted by Brian Nicholson, a free jazz enthusiasts and connoisseur.
