Corey Thuro and John Berndt on live processed instruments
Robin Rhodes and Taylor Washington on strings
Dan Deluca and Samuel Burt on a modular feedback organism

The Red Room shows off all local talent with a night of three duo sets. Come hear cross-sections of Baltimore’s fanatical experimental music scene.

Corey Thuro and John Berndt dialogue via their highly developed vocabularies of extended techniques. This conversation is not just with each other but also with their sophisticated live signal processing. They must contemplate each gesture knowing it has a consequence, an electronic shadow, vast potential. Come witness and be bewildered by never-before-heard sounds.

Robin Rhodes and Taylor Washington play doublebass and violin. Their practice explores resonance and friction. Beyond all other acoustic instruments, bowed strings provide the most expansive library of timbres.

Dan Deluca and Samuel Burt bring separately designed modular synthesizer instruments and then network them to become the brain of a third duet partner. Their performance navigates the chaotic web of interconnected signals delighting in the surprising sounds that emerge.
