Every month, the Red Room hosts the Volunteers’ Collective, a free, open music workshop for the community. In this friendly, informal setting, we focus on listening, collaboration, and experimentation through non-idiomatic improvised music . Players of all skill levels participate.
Try out new approaches to playing your instrument in a non-judgmental setting. See what you can discover on a new instrument. Find novel ways to approach music as a performer and a listener. Meet newcomers and veteran improvisers. Bring a friend.
Doors open at 7pm for people with more complicated set ups. Channels on the PA go to first arrivals. If your setup needs speakers, consider bringing your own amplification.
