Oakland, CA-based oboist and electronic musician (and High Zero alum) Kyle Bruckmann swoops through town to tussle with three of Baltimore’s finest in an improvised set of far too many reeds and fried circuits. Bruckmann’s long shared history with New Music power couple Macklay and Pluta includes collaborating on compositional extremes within the ensemble Splinter Reeds. Dierker & Pluta’s work together provides hints of the exponential electroacoustic mangling liable to ensue.
Opening for the night are former students of the power couple and active student improv organizers, Max Gong and Alex Wu, or, modf.
